After a few weeks he took part in the Italian Championship Mini 60 selection and qualified in his first Italian championship beyond the preliminary stages of the race. In this way, he managed to get direct access to the finals where unfortunately, due to a contact in the race, he ended losing his position.
In January 2007 he got to the Junior 100 category and he took part in the Italian Championship selection as youngest driver, held in Battipaglia. In this occasion he qualified in fifth place. The Italian Championship Final took place in Sarno, 6th July 2007.
Vittorio started in the front row after the preliminary races (he won one race and qualified second place after leading the entire race) and was second in the semi-final race but due to a contact, he was pushed out on the first lap. In the last and final race he departs for last and, after an exciting comeback (fastest lap), he arrived sixth at the finish.
In January 2008, the Junior 100 category was replaced with the KF3 category. In 2008, Vittorio, still the youngest in the category, started racing around Europe and the world. The Profile driver year 2008 of Vittorio Ghirelli

First in 39^ Trofeo delle Industrie Pomposa
Wroom writes: “The first edition of the ‘Trofeo delle Industrie’ ran out of its historic headquarters in Parma, this time on the Pomposa circuit, it has seen very lively races, both on the track after the race. For example, the KF2 had an epilogue with four pilots side by side almost at the finish line, in the order Ghirelli Vittorio, Nicola Towers, Gallucci Alessandro and Stefano Cucco, within less than a tenth of a second! But in the post-race
the smallest of Ghirelli’s brothers will be penalized 10 seconds for extended Gallucci off-line last corner. So Vittorio finished P4.”
